Ipswich mulling over market moves

While manager Roy Keane wants to bring in players in time for the start of pre-season training at the end of the month, Clegg claims that there are no new arrivals imminent and that the club will not be held to ransom over transfer fees. "Discussions are ongoing between myself and Roy but there is nothing specific at this moment in time. There is a possibility with players coming back in a couple of week's time for pre-season but conversely if it takes longer than that then so be it," Clegg told the East Anglian Daily Times. "The purchasing club is not necessarily wholly in control of the timetable of such complicated negotiations when you are dealing potentially with transfer fees with clubs and personal terms with players. "All different negotiations are being carried out in tandem but we are still some distance from making any formal announcements. "I can't put a time frame on it but the closer you get to the end of the transfer window, so the more acute the discussions become."
