Clegg: Results Must Improve

29 March 2010 21:14
Town Chief Executive Simon Clegg has further backed under pressure Town boss Roy Keane this evening, but hints improvements must be made sooner rather than later. Speaking to the Official Club Website, Clegg said: "I'm aware of the media speculation around Roy but the Club's stance is the same as it has always been. We remain fully behind the manager and he will be in charge as usual against Reading on Saturday. "Some of the stories I have seen over the weekend are complete rubbish, like talk of Roy and Marcus [Evans] falling out and not talking to each other."Marcus travels the world with his business commitments and speaks to Roy as and when they need to but it's part of my job to liaise with the manager and we meet or talk two or three times a week, every week."The former British Olympic chief did however hint that the club are not totally happy with Town's current position: "Obviously we are disappointed with the season we have had so far and no one is more disappointed than Roy."Clearly results have to improve but everyone at Ipswich Town is fully focussed on achieving that."
