Wyness reaches Caley ton

Striker Dennis Wyness reached the landmark of 100 career goals for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the 2-1 derby defeat by Aberdeen at the weekend.

The 30-year-old, who has also played for the Dons and Hearts, reached the landmark on his 225th appearance for Caley Thistle, but was distraught that the goal did not bring about a victory.

He told the Press & Journal: "It does feel good to become the first Caley Thistle player to score 100 goals, but it is disappointing that we lost the game.

"The goal does not really matter as we were beaten. It does devalue it a little. I would have preferred it to be the winning goal."

Manager Craig Brewster added: "Hopefully he will score another 100.

"It is a huge achievement for Dennis to score 100 goals, he feels at home here and he is a class player and it was a pity that it wasn't the winner."
