Watt swells Caley ranks

Inverness Caledonian Thistle have secured the signing of Swansea City defender Steven Watt on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old former Chelsea trainee joined the Swans in January, but saw his opportunities limited by a shoulder injury.

He arrives in the Highlands with Caley Thistle also keen to seal the signing of Derry City's Darren Kelly, while they have also enquired about Celtic's Scott Cuthbert.

Director of football Graeme Bennett told the club's official website: "We are slightly shy of defenders and have taken Steven on loan.

"We know him from the local area and he did well at Chelsea, where he played in the reserves and played for them in one of the cups before going to Swansea.

"But he will have to fight for his place."
