Inverness Caledonian Thistle have released veteran striker Gary McSwegan.

The former Rangers, Hearts and Kilmarnock hitman has failed to hold down a first-team place at the Caledonian Stadium this season and has been allowed to leave by manager Charlie Christie.

"Although he only made two SPL starts for us, Gary McSwegan was the perfect professional and a pleasure to work with," said Christie.

"He still has something to offer as he showed with a great goal for our reserves last week.

"Gary has great experience and is keen to continue his playing career while becoming involved on the coaching side. We wish him well."

Meanwhile, Thistle have also released goalkeeper Jonathan Smith and midfielder Stuart Soane.
