Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Craig Brewster is considering offering a full-time contract to Richie Byrne following a trial.
The 27-year-old defender played alongside Brewster at former club Aberdeen and was invited to train with the Highlands club following his departure from Oldham Athletic last month.
"Richie came up for a couple of days to train as he has now finished his short-term contract with Oldham," Brewster told the club's official website.
"We will wait until nearer the time in January before we decide to pursue anything with him.
"I played with him at Dunfermline and Aberdeen, but he has been troubled with injuries over the last year or so.
"He could be an option for us in January if he is available and I like him as a player."
