Mixed emotions for Foran

Inverness Caley Thistle forward Richie Foran believes the Scottish Cup sixth round defeat to Falkirk could prove to be a blessing in disguise.

A first-half penalty from Carl Finnigan helped the Bairns reach the last four of the competition but Foran is happy to concentrate all his energies on helping Terry Butcher's side avoid relegation.

He told the Press & Journal: "I'd have rather lost this game than lose three points against Kilmarnock.

"It's probably a good game to get a kick up the backside from. Although you want to play in cup semi-finals, we'd rather get three points in the league.

"We're disappointed but we can put it right next Saturday. Teams aren't coming here and playing us off the park, so we aren't worried.

"If we can cut out the mistakes we'll be fine."
