McSwegan eyes new role
11 Jun 2007 - 11:25:20
Inverness Caledonian Thistle striker Gary McSwegan is hoping to secure a coaching role with the club after being released from his playing contract.
The 36-year-old former Rangers and Kilmarnock forward only made two starts for the Highlanders last term, but hopes to remain at the club in some capacity.
He said: "I can't say too much about it, but there might still be a position for me at Inverness.
"It's been dragging on for four weeks now and it's quite frustrating. It's an option for me and I'm hoping to have it resolved one way or the other soon.
"I'd definitely have to consider it if the club did want me in a coaching role. It would be a great learning curve and, after playing for 21 years under a lot of great managers, I think that I have a lot to offer."
