Hayes Stays Says Butcher

Caley Jags gaffer Terry Butcher has played down reports linking Jonny Hayes with Celtic.

Hayes, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is understood to be wanted by Celtic after impressing with Inverness since joining the club from Leicester in the summer of 2009.The 24-year-old is currently in talks with the Highland club about a new deal, but Celtic are believed to be considering a swoop for the Irishman before today's transfer deadline at 11pm.But Butch said: "I've had no contact with Celtic whatsoever [about Jonny Hayes]. Nothing has been said to me."I've had a good chat with Jonny about everything and he's very focused on what he's doing for Caley Thistle."
