Dods earns Christie praise

Inverness Caledonian Thistle boss Charlie Christie is confident that key defender Darren Dods will still be at the club past the closing of the transfer window at the end of the month.

The 31-year-old handed in a transfer request in midweek, but still showed up well in the goalless draw with Hibs at the weekend.

Christie said: "Darren will still be here in May 2007, far less next week and we have made it clear that he will not be leaving.

"For anyone questioning Darren's commitment, I thought he was the man of the match and was solid at the heart of our defence throughout the game.

"In particular, I thought he was a rock when Hibs became more direct in the second half and I have no qualms about Darren staying here.

"In fact, I would like to think that he may even extend his stay with us."
