Brewster keen to land Rooney

Inverness Caledonian Thistle boss Craig Brewster has identified Stoke City striker Adam Rooney as the man to replace Marius Niculae.
The Romanian has returned to his homeland after agreeing a switch to Dinamo Bucharest and Brewster is keen to tie up a loan deal for Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Rooney as soon as possible.
"We're still trying to speak to Stoke City about getting Adam Rooney on loan for a year," he said.
"I'm trying to bring him in for the opening game of the season against Aberdeen. He played a part against Burnley, although he was quieter than he has been in recent games.
"I've always said if I need money I'm sure the board will back me but there's no progress on Calum Elliot. It looks like we'll go into the Aberdeen match with the squad already here but I'm trying to sort out the Rooney situation."
