Tel Happy With Reaction

Although the Caley Jags lost to Killie, the boss was pleased with the players' performance. CALEY JAGS manager Terry Butcher said he is much happier with yesterday's defeat than Sunday's - due to the reaction from the players. Butch slammed the players after their defeat to SPL strugglers St Mirren at the weekend for their lack of effort and desire. But the Englishman said he had no such worries after a decent performance yesterday evening in the defeat to Kilmarnock. Butcher told the Press & Journal: "I thought we got a reaction from the St Mirren game and it was a much better performance than on Sunday. "The scoreline was harsher but that was the nature of the game. It was end-to-end and both teams had a lot of chances. "If you are going to lose a game then I would prefer to lose it in that style, as we had a go and got caught on the break. "We showed a lot of courage when we were 2-0 down to come back. I thought we had a good grip on the game in the second half and against the run of play Kilmarnock got their second goal."
