Strachan plays down Bhoys drought

The Hoops could not find a way past a stubborn Inverness on Sunday in a goalless draw.[LNB]Strachan's side had already gone 120 minutes midweek against Dundee United without scoring but eventually made it through to the final of the Co-operative Insurance Cup by the virtue of penalty kicks.[LNB]But the Celtic manager believes it will not be long before his misfiring strikers rediscover their touch in front of goal.[LNB]"It is a concern but we have also gone two games without conceding a goal," he said.[LNB]"It would be more concerning if we weren't through to the final of the league cup, the next round of the Scottish Cup and top of the league. At the moment it is just something we have to work on. The training doesn't change whether we are scoring five or six goals in games or if we aren't scoring any.[LNB]"We got ourselves into good wide positions against Inverness but we just couldn't finish it off."[LNB]The Hoops face arch rivals Rangers in their next league game on February 15 with only a two-point lead following their draw at the Caledonian Stadium.[LNB]Strachan said he would not waste too much time thinking about the four-point lead they could have taken into the Old Firm clash had they defeated the Highlanders.[LNB]"You just have to deal with it," he said. "You can't think about what could or what should have been. You can only focus on the present."[LNB]Inverness manager Terry Butcher was delighted that his side managed to halt their dismal record of eight consecutive defeats in the league.[LNB]The result was also Inverness Caley's first clean sheet in the league since their 2-0 win against Aberdeen on the opening day of the season back in August.[LNB]Butcher said: "We have ended that eight-match losing run which was important. We haven't scored today but we haven't conceded and I thought we played pretty well.[LNB]"That's the first clean sheet since the start of the season which is progress. There is still a long way to go but this result will put a smile on people's faces and hopefully it will give everyone at the club a lift."[LNB]The point was particularly important for the Jags given that their relegation rivals Hamilton Accies and Falkirk had both pulled off unlikely wins the day before.[LNB]Butcher added: "The scores on Saturday were a bit of a kick in the stomach but we could not affect that. What we could do was respond against Celtic and we did that well.[LNB]"I said before the game to the players to imagine this game was the final game of the season and they needed a point or three to stay up. That was the type of attitude we wanted today and the players certainly showed that.[LNB]"I haven't got a clue what I will tell them next week though!"[LNB][LNB]
