Ryan Worried About Next Season

Keeper concerned that established SPL teams know how to handle Caley Jags. CALEY JAGS keeper Ryan Esson fears relegation next season following the team's alarming late-season slump. ICT made a superb stab at the top six this term, but they came up just short in the second half of the season after a flying start. It now means the best position they can finish in is seventh as they prepare to play out the rest of the season in the bottom half. Boss Terry Butcher will be keen to mount another strong challenge next term, but Esson is concerned that Caley Thistle's second season back in the SPL will be far more difficult. He told the Inverness Courier: "The momentum from winning the First Division got us through the first half of this season, but during the second half teams knew more about us and it's been a bit more difficult. "I think next season will be a big test for us. It is going to be harder because of how it's gone this season, but I'm sure the manager knows that as well. "I don't know what his plans are in terms of trying to bring new players in, or who will be staying of those out of contract, but if we can keep the core of this team together then it can only be good for the club."
