Inverness striker Adam Rooney is targeting an upset in Saturday's clash with Clydesdale Bank Premier League leaders Rangers.

Caley Thistle, who won promotion to the top flight last season, are fourth in the SPL entering this weekend's fixtures, unbeaten away from home in more than a year and enter the match in confident mood.

Rooney said: "If we focus on our own game, regardless of who we are playing against, I think we are good enough to take points off anyone."

Rangers have won all seven of their league matches away from home this term, but Rooney is eager to end the run, with Inverness having won three and drawn one of their last four games.

"It's going to be a big game - the fans enjoy it when the Old Firm come up here," he said.

"(But) we don't want to show teams too much respect. We just want to focus on how we do. We are a better team when we do that."

The striker has scored 13 goals in all competitions this season, including a hat-trick in Inverness' last home match, the 4-2 win over Hibernian on November 20.

Rooney added: "We are looking to continue our home form after beating Hibernian here the last time. We're confident going into the game.

"We treat it like any other game, we will look to play like we did against Hibs. The tempo in training has been good, everyone is just eager to play after last week."
