ROONEY NOT BOUND FOR RUSSIA - BUTCHER

Inverness manager Terry Butcher insists there have been no approaches for Adam Rooney despite reports the striker could be on his way to Russia. Reports claim former Chelsea and Romania player Dan Petrescu is lining up a bid to take the Irishman to his Russian top-flight side Kuban Krasnodar. The former Stoke player is out of contract in the summer and is sure to be attracting attention after adding 13 goals this season to the 26-goal haul he netted during Caley Thistle's successful season in the Irn-Bru First Division. But Butcher, whose team host Elgin in the Scottish Cup fourth round on Saturday, dismissed the prospect of the 22-year-old heading to Russia this winter. Butcher said: "The boys have been calling him Oleg and comrade, he's been getting pelters. "There's nothing in that and still nothing in that. That's actually created a bit of fun in the dressing room and that's all it is, a piece of nonsense as far as we're concerned."
