Red card leaves Reid feeling blue

The midfielder was sent off by Charlie Richmond for a strong challenge on Filipe Morais, after Hamilton defender Martin Canning had cancelled out Richie Foran's stylish opener. The Scotland Under-21 international got the top of the ball but his studs also caught the Inverness player as he slid in. "The sending-off was really, really harsh," Reid told Setanta Sports. "I know he has lifted his foot up but I think he's won the ball and the man has not been seriously hurt. "I think all the Inverness players and management team thought it was harsh. "He's gutted. James is a committed player, he's not a dirty player. When I played years ago that would never have been a sending-off." Morais did not see the challenge coming but he absolved McArthur of blame. "When the tackle first came in, I felt a sharp pain and I was a little bit worried," the 23-year-old said. "I know James and he's a good lad. I'm sure he wasn't intentionally trying to injure me. "At the time you don't really see it, you just feel the tackle and it hurt. "I was just in pain, I wasn't trying to get anyone sent off. It was unlucky for them but good for us." Morais was disappointed his team could not exploit their man advantage. Accies came closer to grabbing a late winner when Richard Offiong raced clear and fired just wide. "We're really disappointed, it was a chance to move six points clear of the bottom team," he said. "We needed to be a bit more composed. Instead of just hitting it long, we should have used our wingers more and got crosses in." Hamilton remain eighth and Reid said: "We're obviously happy with the point but disappointed with the way we played. But it's a point nearer to safety."
