Rangers 1-0 Caley Jags

No surprise that Rangers win thanks to a dodgy goal in a fixture that should never have happened. THE CALEY JAGS lost to a controversial goal at Ibrox as Rangers moved to within two points of Scottish Premier League leaders Celtic. The visitors came close to an opener when Richie Foran's header was touched onto the bar by Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor. But Rangers scored through Steven Davis on the counter-attack after Adam Rooney had been clearly fouled on the touchline. Inverness were already feeling a sense of injustice at having to play the game at all, after being stitched up by Rangers and the SPL's cosy relationship, and the manner of the decisive goal just layered on the bitterness. Inverness comfortable managed to cope with Rangers in the second half while hardly carving out any chances of their own. The SPL's favourite team still have two games in hand over Celtic while the Caley Jags remain fifth in the table.
