Proctor wary of St Mirren duo

Inverness defender David Proctor has pinpointed Craig Dargo and Michael Higdon as the dangermen when the Highlanders visit St Mirren Park.

Dargo, who enjoyed a prolific spell with Inverness before his injury-hit period in Paisley, netted both goals for St Mirren in their Scottish Cup win at Ayr last weekend - his first since suffering a knee injury early in the season. Higdon has netted seven times this term despite also missing several games through injury.

"We know they have players who can hurt us - the likes of Craig Dargo, who was up here. Big Higdon is a different player. He will be more physical and try to win the aerial battles," said Proctor.

"If we can manage to stop that threat, I think we can go a long way to maybe getting a result down there."

Inverness have not won in 10 SPL games but have maintained their top-six position and showed they had not lost their goalscoring touch with a 5-1 cup triumph over Morton last weekend.

Manager Terry Butcher fielded January signings Alex MacDonald, Aaron Doran and Chris Hogg against the Greenock side and Proctor believes they have injected some new impetus into the team.

"The result on Saturday was one we needed to raise everyone's spirits and get the confidence back up," Proctor said.

"The new signings came in and showed their worth as well. It looks like Jonny Hayes is coming back soon so we'll have plenty of attacking options and we're looking pretty solid at the back."
