No Contract Stress For Tel

Boss Butcher is in no rush to agree new deals for out-of-contract players. CALEY JAGS gaffer Terry Butcher reckons patience is the key regarding players who are soon out of contract. Butcher has started the renewal process with new deals being offered to top scorer Adam Rooney and midfielder Nick Ross, and is set to open talks with left-back Graeme Shinnie. Other players out of contract at the end of the season include Grant Munro, Russell Duncan and Eric Odhiambo, whose agent has already been stirring up interest down south. However, Tel will not be hasty in attempting to tie down the nearly out of contract players. He told the Inverness Courier: "There's no rush on my part. I think you have to make plans accordingly. "We have had a great start to the SPL season, but we have to see what the situation is come the new year. "If we are still pushing for top six and have a good points total then obviously there is more security and we can look at the contract situation. "That's our aim anyway. We want to get into a position as quickly as possible where we can start to plan longer term, looking at next season and possibly beyond."
