On-loan Inverness striker Miles Storey to make big decision on future in summer

Miles Storey admits he has no idea where he will be playing his football next season - but has not ruled out staying put with Inverness.

The on-loan Swindon striker has played a key role for John Hughes' team this campaign, netting 10 goals in 29 appearances for the Highlanders.

His Robins deal expires at the end of the campaign, meaning the 22-year-old is likely to be free to select where he plays next term.

Caley Thistle boss John Hughes would like to sign him up again but admits he expects to see the Englishman move on once more in the summer.

But Storey insists he he has enjoyed his stint with Inverness and could be persuaded to extend his stay.

He said: "I haven't thought about my future to be honest. I'm out of contract in the summer.

"To be honest, I've just been counting myself as being here and trying to embed myself in the club. I've really enjoyed it up until now.

"I've just got to help Inverness these next three league games, then after the split we will see what happens.

"Hopefully I'll have some takers and I'll still have a career in the game."

Caley Thistle's hopes of re-signing Storey would be helped if they could claim the extra prize money on offer for sneaking into the top six.

Hughes' ninth-placed side have three games left - starting with Saturday's clash with Motherwell - to bridge the four-point gap separating them from rivals Ross County in sixth.

They ended a seven-game run without a win by beating the Staggies last time out and Storey said: "Hopefully we're making progress just at the right time. It's good to be looking up rather than being up there looking down.

"We've got something to play for, especially with two games at home with Motherwell on Saturday and then Hearts on Tuesday. Hopefully we can use the home advantage to get six points."

Hughes has seen his injury list ease as Andrea Mbuyi-Mutombo and James Vincent are back in training and David Raven is close to a comeback following a foot injury.

But Greg Tansey is suspended and Aaron Doran, Dean Brill (both knee) and Alex Fisher (ankle) remain on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Motherwell defender Kieran Kennedy is taking inspiration from his former Leicester team-mates as he makes his way in the game.

The 22-year-old left Leicester for Fir Park last summer after failing to make a first-team breakthrough and is amazed at the Foxes' transformation from Barclays Premier League bottom club to leaders.

"It's crazy," the former England Under-19 international said. "I didn't expect that.

"I thought they would stay up, but I didn't think they would be top of the league. It's madness. But I'm really happy for everyone. It's a good family club so they deserve it.

"Everyone wants each other to do well. When players aren't in the squad they are cheering each other on. There are no big-time Charlies in there and it's a good club to be at.

"I still speak to some of the lads and they just can't believe what's happening."

Kennedy has made 19 appearances for Motherwell and feels he is improving all the time under Mark McGhee.

"On a whole I would say it's been a great season for me," he said. "It's the first time I have played first-team football and that's what happens in football: sometimes you are in the team and sometimes performances aren't as good as they should be.

"It's up to me then to work hard in training and get back in the team.

"Every time I have been out of the team the gaffer has had a word with me and said, 'Listen, this is what you need to do to get back in the team'.

"I understand at the time I wasn't playing as well as I needed to do. If you work hard in training, the gaffer always gives you another opportunity. It's just about learning curves really."

Keith Lasley is back in contention for the trip after recovering from a dead leg.

And defender Ben Hall is available again after missing the victory over Aberdeen through illness.

Defender Louis Laing (groin), midfielder Stephen Pearson (broken ribs/punctured lung) and forward James McFadden (broken ankle) all remain sidelined.
