Fon Williams at home in Inverness

Goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams says he feels right at home with Inverness because there is nothing to divert his attention away from Caley Thistle's league plight.

The Welsh stopper made a summer switch to the Highlands from Tranmere.

Raised in the remote village of Penygroes in the north-west of Wales, Fon Williams claims his new city - last year voted the happiest place to live in Scotland - reminds him of home.

But he also believes residing in the Ladbrokes Premiership's northern outpost will benefit his on-field prospects because there is little else to focus on other than helping John Hughes' side move up the table.

"As a city, it's a fantastic place to live," said the 28-year-old. "There are no distractions but what more do you want? As footballers you want a clear head. You want to be focused every day on improving.

"So Inverness is great for that. It's a really nice city. No matter where you look it's just beautiful.

"I was brought up in a very similar place myself, so I haven't had to adapt at all because it feels like second nature. It's been easy.

"In terms of the football, it's been great too. Everything is kept tight in the dressing room and I feel we're getting better every day we go along."

Inverness manager John Hughes has reported an unchanged squad for their Ladbrokes Premiership encounter with Hamilton.

Aaron Doran, James Vincent and Jordan Roberts will all miss out for another week along with Josh Meekings, who has been struggling with a hip issue, but some are close to a comeback.

Long-term absentees Gary Warren (broken leg), Richie Foran and Dean Brill (both knee) remain out.

Hamilton player-manager Martin Canning is back in training following his recovery from a calf injury but is still not ready for Saturday.

Danny Redmond has recovered from a knee complaint and played 45 minutes for the under-20s on Tuesday night.

Fellow midfielder Darren Lyon is back from a knee injury but might have mumps and has been told to stay away from the club in the meantime.

Canning believes Hamilton have added incentive to beat Inverness on Saturday.

Last weekend's 4-0 win over Dundee United at New Douglas Park on Saturday means Caley are the only team Accies have not defeated since returning to the top flight last season, albeit they have yet to face newly-promoted Hearts.

The Hamilton player/manager is hoping to put that right against a Caley team which he claims gave his side more trouble than anyone in the previous campaign when they won all three encounters.

"It is obviously one to put in the minds of the players and hopefully we can go up and take three points," said Canning.

"In the first game of last season they beat us 2-0 at home and they were comfortable to be honest.

"In the second game up in Inverness they beat us 4-2 after we went a goal up and the last game here was 2-0 as well so they were all pretty convincing wins for Inverness.

"They were probably the best team we played against last season, (in that) they were the team that pretty much dominated us in all three games.

"So it is going to be a difficult game up there but one we will look to take three points from.

"We will do what we always do, prepare properly and go and try to win the match."
