Caley unchanged for Dundee clash

Inverness have an unchanged squad for the Scottish Premiership encounter with Dundee.

Dean Brill is pushing Ryan Esson for the goalkeeper's jersey after recovering from a knee injury.

Long-term absentee Richie Foran (knee) remains on the sidelines.

Ryan Christie revealed Inverness will return from the international break geared up for a "mini-season" which could end in league and cup glory.

John Hughes's side are third in the Scottish Premiership, eight points behind Aberdeen and seven ahead of Dundee United, who have played a game less.

In addition to the prospect of European football for the first time in the club's 21-year history via their league position, the Highlanders also face Celtic in the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden on April 19 looking to reach the final for the first time.

Midfielder Christie said: "We did a couple of hard sessions just to make sure we are back to full sharpness on Saturday.

"The main aim is to keep going in the run-in and try to get as many points as we can.

"A couple of boys have said that we have to think of it as a mini-season. It is a mini-table up at the top of the table.

"So it is important that we get as much as we can out of the games left and being still in the cup is brilliant. To have that is a good incentive."

Dundee boss Paul Hartley is missing defender Gary Irvine (knee), midfielder Gary Harkins (shin) and striker Luka Tankulic (hamstring), but Jim McAlister is back after a hernia operation.

Hartley hopes his side can take their impressive away form into the match in the Highlands.

The Dark Blues haves shown they can handle life on their travels since coming back up to the top flight, and dug out a 0-0 draw at Caley Thistle back in August.

"That's been a pleasing part of our season," Hartley said. "It's something we should take heart from.

"We have been steady on the road, with strong performances. We have been hard to beat at times and we will have to be that again on Saturday.

"We have to be solid, have a good shape about us, work hard and be disciplined. The focus and concentration have to be good. It's all about the right preparation for the players and no excuses."

Dundee ran Inverness close the last time round only to fall to a late defeat at Dens Park.

But Hartley believes they have cause to be confident after holding Aberdeen to a 1-1 draw in their last outing.

He said: "They have been good games between us this season.

"The first one up there was pretty close; the second game here, we played well for 45 minutes and then they played well for the second 45 and we were hit with a sucker-punch with the last kick of the ball.

"So I think when you go up to Inverness, with the way (manager) John (Hughes) sets his team out, you are in for a tough game.

"They play good football. It is a total change from how they played before a year or 18 months ago. The style of football is good to watch and easy on the eye.

"As for ourselves, we gave a good account in the recent Aberdeen game. There was a lot for us to be pleased about overall."
