Owain Fon Williams could return as Inverness host Arbroath

Wales goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams could make his return for Inverness when they round off their Betfred Cup group at home to Arbroath on Saturday.

The 29-year-old had the time of his life reaching the semi-finals with Wales at Euro 2016 but he cannot wait to get back into action with Caley Thistle.

Having been given a short break following the tournament by Highlanders boss Richie Foran, the former Stockport and Tranmere stopper is now looking forward to getting back on with his day job.

The keeper said: "The Euros were unbelievable. It was the best eight weeks of my life, certainly football-wise. It was the time of my life and a time I'll cherish forever.

"Obviously what we achieved at the Euros was incredible but now I'm back in Inverness it's down to business.

"My focus is on the season ahead and I'm really looking forward to it. It's important now for me to get my hands on the ball and get my sharpness back and then get ready."

As well as having Fon Williams back available for the Red Licthies clash, boss Foran will also consider whether or not to had midfielder Aaron Doran his first taste of action in a year after the Irishman stepped up his recovery from a knee injury.

Jake Mulraney could also feature after shaking off a knock as Inverness look for the win which will see them top Group C.

Arbroath miss the banned pair of Ricky Little and Martin Scott with manager Dick Campbell waiting on Josh Thomson, Michael Dunlop and Gavin Malin before finalising his team after the trio picked up knocks.

The Gayfield men cannot qualify however Campbell is determined that his side do more than make up the numbers as he explained: "We have nothing to lose and have no pressure on us so we will have a real go at Inverness.

"Unfortunately we have not picked up as many points as we would have liked but we will look to finish our campaign on a high."
