Inverness aiming to strike the right note against title contenders Aberdeen

Midfielder Ross Draper believes Inverness can hit the right notes and finish the season strongly after forcing their two recent signings to sing in front of their new team-mates.

Former Brentford midfielder Ryan Williams and ex-Cambridge forward Liam Hughes both checked into the Highland outfit earlier this month.

But before either could make their debut, they were ordered to carry out a cringe-worthy initiation ceremony on the team bus.

Both took the jape in good spirits and now Draper believes they will fit in well with the rest of the Caley Thistle squad.

He said: "They are two good lads. They are big characters and have settled in well.

"They had to sing on the bus down to Motherwell last week. Both of them were garbage, utter rubbish.

"Liam sung 'Frozen' but I can't tell you what Ryan sung, but they were both rubbish.

"Things like that are good for helping the guys settle in. They took it on the chin and realise it's something we do with new players. They both gave it their all.

"On the pitch too both have looked sharp in training. Hopefully they will be two good additions to the squad."

Inverness host Aberdeen on Monday night and Draper believes his side will be up against genuine contenders for the Ladbrokes Premiership title.

The Dons can once again go level with Celtic at the summit with a victory at the Caledonian Stadium.

Draper said: "I think they can go all the way - I don't see why they can't. Every club has a sticky period and Aberdeen had theirs a couple of months ago when they lost five games out of six.

"But they have come through it and are now going toe-to-toe with Celtic.

"So they are high on confidence. The longer they stick in there the more chance they will have of doing it."

Club captain Richie Foran looks to be out for the season after tearing a calf muscle.

Alex Fisher (ankle), Josh Meekings and James Vincent (both knee) remain on the sidelines.

Dean Brill is still not ready to be considered as he continues his rehabilitation from a long-term knee injury while Aaron Doran (knee) is further away from fitness.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen defender Shay Logan insists thoughts about pipping Celtic to the title are still locked away at the back of his mind.

The Dons can rejoin the Hoops at the top of the table if they can win on Monday night.

But Logan is refusing to let himself even consider the possibility that his team could become the first side from outside Glasgow to claim the crown in 31 years in case they stumble.

Speaking ahead of Monday night's clash at Inverness, the left-back told RedTV: "We've got 13 games left and this is the next one we need to play and hopefully we can pick up the victory.

"It's always a tough challenge when you play up there but we know the task that lies ahead.

"You will be sick of hearing this but we really don't think about the title race. You can't think about what will happen two or three games down the road or where you will be after a certain date if they drop points or we drop points.

"We've got a tough task of three away games in a row. We won the first but we can't think about next Friday's match with Partick because what happens if we slip against Inverness on Monday?

"So we will go full blooded against Caley Thistle and give 100 per cent. Only then will we move onto the next game."

Aberdeen hope to have midfielders Ryan Jack and Willo Flood back from hamstring injuries. Flood returned to training on Wednesday and Jack joined in on Saturday.

Defender Andrew Considine is a major doubt after pulling up with a calf problem just before the Dons' victory at St Johnstone last weekend.
