Inverness Caley Thistle Players Are Mental!

Sports psychologist - and the gaffer - helping players find mental strength, says captain Foran Caley Jags skipper Richie Foran believes the Inverness players have the mental strength to help them finish in the top six of the SPL. The club brought in sports psychologist Donald McNaughton to help the players focus on their goal. But Foran believes the best work on their mental strength has come from the inspiring motivational talks of manager Terry Butcher. The captain told the Press & Journal: "The manager’s team talks are legendary. You’ve really got to be there to believe them. "I thought I’d heard them all at Motherwell but he’s had a few more up his sleeve in Inverness and I’m sure he’s not finished yet. "You just never know what you’re going to get and the beauty is they’re so wide-ranging and not just to do with football. He’ll go as far back and talk about the war days in Britain, about things he’s read and watched over the years. "The end result is that the players are ready to do anything for him. "He wants to get us ready for every occasion and by the time he’s finished we’re more than ready to go."
