Foran hopes for points in Perth

Inverness forward Richie Foran admits he does not enjoy playing against St Johnstone but hopes the goalscoring prowess of his team can make their trip to Perth worthwhile.

Caley Thistle have had mixed fortunes against St Johnstone this season with one win, a draw and a January defeat that ended their 13-month unbeaten away run in the league.

"We`re in for a really tough game," former Motherwell player Foran said. "Every game we have played this season, there hasn`t been a lot of goals. They haven`t been nice games to be honest, I haven`t really enjoyed them. It`s all about going there and winning ugly."

He added: "They`re not nice games to play, they are just a battle. They`re a battling team, they are big, honest lads. We have to go there with the right attitude. If we battle with them, I think our quality can come through on the night."

Foran believes fellow Irishman Adam Rooney could be crucial in breaking down a Saints defence, marshalled by Michael Duberry, which has kept nine clean sheets at McDiarmid Park in 2011.

Another Irishman, Aaron Doran, scored an impressive goal in the 1-1 draw against Hearts last weekend and Foran is optimistic they can have success in Perth.

Rooney said: "They have got good players like Duberry with massive experience who have played at a good level down south.

"They have got some big boys at the back but we have got Adam Rooney up front, he has scored 19 goals this season.

"We believe we can score goals every game. If we create the chances we did against Hearts, I think Adam can score the goals.

"We have other players in the team who can pop up and score. We are not worried about scoring goals, we have players that can do that."
