Fit-again McCann relishing return

Kevin McCann is determined to make up for lost time and prove his injury troubles are firmly in the past as Inverness take on Kilmarnock in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League this weekend. The defender was on a high when he netted a superb goal to set the Highlanders on their way to a dramatic 4-0 win over Dundee United in August. But he suffered a setback the following week after sustaining a groin injury that would sideline him until last week's comeback against St Johnstone. Now fully fit, McCann admits he probably had a part to play in finding himself out of action for several weeks. He said: "It was really frustrating. I thought I had put it all behind me but it's one of those things. I put myself out there and push myself to the limit and sometimes you can push your body too far and you pick up wee things. But I always do that, I always try my best and that's what I'm always aiming to do. "It was really disappointing because I was on a high coming off the back of the Dundee United performance with the rest of the boys. It was a really good team performance that day and I was hoping to kick on from there. To pick up that injury was really disappointing to be honest. Now I'm back involved with the team I need to kick on and hopefully progress."
