Caley skipper wants strong finish

Inverness captain Richie Foran has warned his team-mates not to slack off against Hamilton in case they lose their places for next season.

Caley Thistle held a trial match for free agents as manager Terry Butcher looks to inject some younger talent into his team for next season.

"You are playing for your starting place for next season," Foran said. "You want to keep the manager`s thoughts all about you over the summer."

He added: "I said to the lads, 'you want to be staying in that starting 11 for next season. The manager is going to get quality additions but if you put in a good performance against Hamilton you can stay in his 11'."

Butcher believes there is plenty to play for despite having comfortably clinched seventh place.

"Some of our players are playing their last games for the club and we want to make it a good one for them," the manager said. "There are 90 minutes more and then we can reflect on what has been a marvellous campaign.

"There are win bonuses there and the aim is to get to 53 points.

"At the start of the split, I said the things that would distinguish us from everyone else is attitude. The attitude has been spot-on, although possibly not in the Aberdeen game."

Inverness midfielder Russell Duncan returns to the squad from suspension.

Defender Chris Hogg remains on the sidelines with knee cartilage damage while Jonny Tuffey will continue in goal.
