Caley Jags Offer Rooney New Deal

Butcher says there's a good chance that hot shot Adam Rooney will sign a new contract to keep him at the TCS. CALEY JAGS boss Terry Butcher believes the club has a very good chance of persuading top scorer Adam Rooney to sign a new contract. The striker is free to speak to other clubs next month but is currently weighing up an offer from Inverness to extend his stay at the TCS. Rooney has scored 46 goals in 100 appearances for Caley Thistle since joining from Stoke City in 2008, and could walk away for free when his contract runs out in the summer. Butcher told the Inverness Courier: "Adam has been made a very good offer. I know he loves it here and certainly the system we play revolves around him. "I know he is enjoying his football at Caley Thistle, so both myself and his team-mates will keep on at him and hopefully between us we can convince him to stay. "He's a very level-headed lad and quite relaxed about the whole situation and so am I, but there's no doubt I would like it sorted out sooner rather than later."
