Caley Jags Crisis!

21 September 2010 17:14
Inverness Caley Thistle have only four recognised defenders available ahead of Celtic clash. CALEY JAGS boss Terry Butcher has a defensive crisis ahead of this week's cup clash with Celtic. Chris Innes joined the growing list of defensive casualties on Saturday, picking up a hamstring injury against Hearts. Innes could face at least a month on the sidelines but will have a scan this week to discover the extent of the injury. Full-backs Kevin McCann and Kenny Gillet also missed the Hearts game with groin and knee injuries respectively. This leaves Butch with only four defenders ahead of the Co-op Cup clash at Parkhead on Wednesday: Grant Munro, Ross Tokely, David Proctor and Stuart Golabek. Butcher told the Inverness Courier: "We're going to have to go with what we've got. However, the players we do have in defence are all experienced and will be relishing facing Celtic. "We'll go there knowing that we have to be strong and solid in defence, but I think it's a great game for us and one we should be really looking forward to. I certainly don't think it's a game we should be worried about. "Despite missing a few defenders through injury, we still have options within the squad, so we'll have a look at it over the next couple of days and see what we can do."
