Caley Jags Boss Praises Duo

ICT manager Terry Butcher hailed the performances of Graeme Shinnie and Lee Cox after the controversial loss to Rangers.

Left-back Shinnie came back in after a two-month spell out of the side, while midfielder Cox made his first start of the season having previously been troubled by pelvic and groin problems.

Both, however, turned in excellent displays and Butcher was full of praise for the efforts of two of his squad’s younger members.

He told the Inverness Courier: "Graeme was immense in the first half against Rangers. That was the best attacking display I’ve seen from a full-back this season.

"Lee also came in for his first start even though he’s not had much of a chance to get a lot of game-time under his belt. However, I felt the performance he put in was like the Lee Cox of old in the way that he put himself about in the middle of the park and got stuck in.

"When you consider that Graeme is only 20 old and Lee is 21, it is really encouraging to see young players going to a place like Ibrox and turning in two excellent performances."
