Caley boss keen to intimidate

Butcher's men have lost their last two home games, going down to his former club Motherwell in the Scottish Premier League and relegation rivals Falkirk in the Homecoming Scottish Cup. Although a sensational victory at Rangers separated those results, Butcher is wary of his side slipping back into the bad habits that saw them win only one of 11 SPL home games before he took over in January. The former England captain turned that around with two wins and a draw in all competitions at the Caledonian Stadium and wants his side to regain that sort of form in time for Saturday's visit of Kilmarnock. "We need to make the home ground more intimidating," Butcher said. "Motherwell and Falkirk managed to come away with victories in games we've been disappointed in. "Last week, the emotions were up and down so this week we're looking for more of a flat-line and getting more consistency, which starts at home." He added: "Although our away form is good, it's still important to win the games at home because teams should fear coming up to Inverness and hopefully Kilmarnock will. "They've been up here twice this season and haven't been able to win and we're looking for that to continue." In what was only his second game in charge, Butcher masterminded a Scottish Cup victory over Kilmarnock, Inverness' third straight win against Jim Jefferies' men this season. Saturday's visitors have not won in the Highland capital since December 2006, and Butcher is keen to see that miserable run continue. He said: "It can work both for and against you because Kilmarnock will be desperate to end that run. "We know how big the game is, no-one needs to tell us that, but we have to play well as a team and make sure every department is functioning. "A clean sheet is also a priority and making sure we get service to the striker, but Kilmarnock have good players and can be dangerous at set pieces, so they'll be a tough nut to crack." Inverness have the added incentive of putting daylight between themselves and Falkirk, who replaced them at the foot of the table following the last round of SPL games. Butcher said: "Falkirk were meant to play Celtic away this weekend, but Celtic are involved in the cup, which gives us a great chance to pull away. "We have to carry on the momentum for February; we've lost two successive home games now, which is not nice and that's something we don't want after being unbeaten in three on our own soil. "It's not so much how we play but winning the games itself. Kilmarnock have built it up as a do or die game but we should be used to those types of games by now. "We know what we have to do and how many points we have to achieve, so we'll treat the game on it's own merits and do nothing different to what we've done before." Inverness 5/4, Kilmarnock 11/5, Draw 12/5
