Butcher wants Caley to make amends

Terry Butcher hopes his Inverness side swiftly move on from their loss to Hibernian when they tackle Dundee United at home in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.

Inverness suffered a 2-0 defeat at Easter Road on Saturday and are in danger of slipping out of the top six with congestion building up behind them - 10th-placed Hibs are now five points behind.

Butcher said: "It's great the game's come around so quickly - we haven't got time to harp on about the Easter Road defeat, we're now looking at victory on Tuesday."

He added: "It was very disappointing on Saturday considering that we've been in the top six for about six months.

"It's one we have to forget - we'll heed the lessons - but the most important thing now is what we do on Tuesday.

"It's a good game when you look at the context of the top six, because we play Dundee United on Tuesday and (fifth-placed) Motherwell on Saturday, both clubs in and around us in the top-six area.

"We can get good points against them - and that's our aim.

"We always knew it would be a big week for us.

"We've not had the best start of starts, we can't change that now, but what we can affect is the future and the future starts on Tuesday night."
