Butcher Slams SPL's Rangers Bias

The Caley Jags boss in incensed that the governing body has bent over backwards for one of the Glasgow giants yet again. CALEY JAGS gaffer Terry Butcher has launched an extraordinary attack on his former club Rangers. Butcher is furious with the SPL after ICT were given just seven days’ notice of a rearranged fixture at Ibrox. The Caley Jags were originally scheduled to face Rangers on January 29, but the game was switched to March 2 - however it will now be played next Tuesday. Rangers were due to take on St Mirren on that date but, with the Buddies involved in a Scottish Cup fourth-round replay against Peterhead, Rangers requested to bring forward their fixture with Caley Thistle - and of course the Hun-loving SPL bent over backwards. Butcher was clearly furious with the bias shown when he told the Press & Journal: "I am appalled the game has been switched. I really feel our supporters have been short-changed again and we have been disadvantaged as a club. "The SPL asked us for our views and we told them about the travelling and other concerns we had. "The SPL has disregarded it and forced us to play the game. "I find the attitude of the SPL to be offensive, giving us just seven days’ notice." This is the second time in a week that Inverness has been at loggerheads with the SPL, following last week's revelation that the ICT board felt misled by the SPL's 10-team SPL plans (click here).
