Butcher relishes return to big time

Terry Butcher has urged his Inverness side to savour their Clydesdale Bank Premier League return and not throw away their hard work in restoring their top-flight status. Caley Thistle dropped down into the Irn-Bru First Division two seasons ago but bounced back at the first attempt as they finished the league season with a 21-game unbeaten run. One of their rewards is a home game against Neil Lennon's new-look Celtic side as the First Division flag is unfurled at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday. Butcher is relieved Inverness have recaptured their pride by returning to the top table, saying: "It's massively different from this time last year, we didn't even have a team picture because we were embarrassed about being in the First Division. "It's going to be another great occasion for us, May 1 was a brilliant time with us beating Dundee to lift the championship trophy and all the fans on the pitch. It's going to a full house and live on the TV in front of the biggest TV audience we've ever played in front of, so that should inspire us as well." Butcher added: "Now we're back, we want to make the most of it. I don't think people realise what we went through last year on and off the pitch, with the financial losses and it took us a while to get going in the league but when we did we were absolutely brilliant. I think last season was really special and we don't want to throw that all away by not giving the SPL our best shot."
