Butcher happy with Caley win

Terry Butcher was happy with the three points his Inverness side picked up from the 2-0 win over Hibernian in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League which made it a hat-trick of home successes. But the manager revealed his players were not entirely overjoyed with the outcome. Goals in either half from Richie Foran and a spectacular effort by Nick Ross secured what in the end was a comfortable win for the hosts. A wonderful strike from teenage sensation Ross sealed the win. The 19-year-old's volley from the edge of the area, a goal of the season contender, bounced in off the underside of the crossbar after 51 minutes. Foran had broken the deadlock after 40 minutes when his angled header from six yards went in off the post, striker Adam Rooney making sure it was over the line with a finishing touch. Despite the win, Caley Thistle were never able to produce a free-flowing performance to make the players happy, according to Butcher. He said: "It was a difficult match in some respects because the surface was not conducive to free-flowing, passing football. It was more of a gritty performance from ourselves and the players didn't enjoy it very much, but it's another victory and you have got to be happy with that. "Nick Ross was making his 50th appearance for the club, we've reached 50 league goals for the season and we're on 50 points, so it seems to have been a lucky number for us."
