Butcher delighted by Morais double

Caley had been trailing to an Andy Dorman strike after seven minutes but the brace from Morais gave Butcher's side the precious three SPL points. But Butcher revealed that the goalscoring hero was close to starting the match on the bench. "I was actually looking at playing Andy Barrowman but Filipe Morais has impressed me since I came back," he said. "I thought he did very well for us at Ibrox and he gives us that something different that you need, particularly at home. He produced two bits of magic today. "You look for somebody to do that something special because that can be the difference between you staying up and going down." Inverness move above St Mirren and Kilmarnock thanks to the win and are now four points clear of bottom-placed Falkirk. Butcher was delighted that results elsewhere went in favour of his side. "After we went a goal down I would have settled for a draw, let alone three points," he said. "The lads showed great character to get back in the game. The results have gone for us this week and it is nice payback for the fans after the 4-0 defeat at Falkirk. "It is tense at the bottom and every game is a cup final but after two weeks of inactivity it is nice to come back with a win." St Mirren had looked set to cause an upset at the Caledonian Stadium after Dorman gave the visitors the lead after seven minutes. Gus MacPherson was frustrated by his side's inability to capitalise on their early advantage. He said: "We are disappointed as we started the game well and took the lead. We were pretty comfortable until they scored. Losing that goal completely changed it." The St Mirren manager was particularly annoyed by his side's slow start to the second half that saw them fall behind within two minutes of the restart. He added: "At half-time we stressed the importance of starting the second half properly but we didn't do that. We gave away a very soft goal which gave Inverness a fantastic lift. "We made changes, we gambled and we did create some good opportunities for ourselves but we didn't take them and that will invariably cost you, especially away from home. "We had three or four great chances in the last 20 minutes of the game, which you hope you can take but if you fail to take them then you will get nothing from the game."
