Butcher boosted by 'bonus' point
The stalemate at the Caledonian Stadium on Sunday provided Butcher with a point from his first game in charge, as well as the team with a much-needed confidence boost.[LNB]He told BBC Scotland: "Ever since we've come here, they've made us feel very welcome in the city and at the club.[LNB]"The players have given us everything and I thank them for that because it does give us hope.[LNB]"It's hard to put your finger on it, but there is something here that is a bit special. Hopefully we can take that forward.[LNB]"In the last 10 minutes, I was thinking that if we lost the game, I would still have been very pleased with the way they played.[LNB]"A point is a bonus obviously but the real bonus is the performance.[LNB]"They came off the pitch as heroes and our boys can be heroes this season."[LNB]Butcher signed Richie Foran and Eric Odhiambo in the wake of his appointment and hopes to add to his squad further before the transfer window closes.[LNB]He added: "I hope so. I hope we can get another one in.[LNB]"The board are terrific. They are like, 'If it can be done, it will be done'."[LNB]Inverness has not been a happy hunting ground for Celtic in the past and manager Gordon Strachan admits his team struggled once again against the rock-bottom side.[LNB]He told BBC Scotland: "It was nothing different from what we have had here before. We got the same type of performance from Inverness.[LNB]"It could have been any one of the games we've had here before.[LNB]"We've tried different teams. I've tried an all-skilful team, the stronger ones, taller ones.[LNB]"But, at this moment in time, we are not getting performances.[LNB]"We get a half or 25 minutes but we should be dominating the game with the good players we've got."[LNB]He added: "We've got the footballers, we've got the better players, but we didn't play well, especially in the first half.[LNB]"We didn't pass the ball properly, we were one dimensional. It's more our responsibility to make it a better game than Inverness'."[LNB][LNB]
