Butcher blames the break

Terry Butcher believes the international break could have cost his Inverness side their momentum after a lacklustre draw with St Johnstone. The former England captain and one-time Scotland assistant boss was aiming for a third league win in a row but his team had to settle for a share of the spoils at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. Jonny Hayes' second-half equaliser ensured a 1-1 draw after Collin Samuel put the visitors ahead early on. "The two-week break, with people being away, sort of disrupted the flow and the rhythm that we had, so I'm glad that the international breaks are out of the way now," Butcher commented. "It took a while in the second half before we really got going and if you only play for a quarter of the game to the standard of what you normally play, then you don't deserve to win it. "We gave ourselves a mountain to climb in the first half and eventually clawed our way back up there in the second so I'm just delighted with a point."
