Mourinho pleased to be ahead
25 Feb 2010 - 08:46:59
Internazionale coach Jose Mourinho believes his side have the edge after beating Chelsea 2-1 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash at the San Siro.
In Mourinho's first game against the club he left in September 2007, striker Diego Milito gave Inter a third-minute lead before Salomon Kalou equalised for Chelsea just after half-time.
However, Inter take a narrow lead into next month's second leg at Stamford Bridge after Esteban Cambiasso scored a superb second goal for the Serie A leaders.
After the game Mourinho insisted: "We can go there with a legitimate ambition to go through. It's obviously not the result which ends the tie, it's not 3-0 or 4-0, but the most important thing is the result and we are ahead.
"I will have to control my emotions in the second leg and be professional like I was today. In the tunnel, it is not a normal game for me - and it is not for them either - but, when the game starts, it becomes normal for them and for me. They want to win and I want to win.
"At Stamford Bridge, I don't expect anything other than people to be glad to have me back as we worked so well together.
"This time I will go back to a different dressing room, a different dugout and but I know normally Mourinho is lucky at Stamford Bridge."
