Moratti fires Maicon warning

Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has warned Brazilian wing-back Maicon that the Italian champions will not give in to his demands for a pay increase.

The 27-year-old recently impressed as his country won the Confederations Cup title, but Moratti is in no mood to budge, despite rumoured interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea.

He told the club's official website: "We consider Maicon for the value that he has. We have not undervalued him.

"It wasn't difficult to predict that Maicon would become the strongest right-back in the world.

"We have seen this for the last three years and his merit has contributed to our success.

"His demands? These are issues for the club. Am I worried about Inter? Why would I? We are strong and all of our players have remained with the team."
