Moratti cools Mourinho talk

02 Apr 2008 - 16:52:18

Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has denied reports suggesting Jose Mourinho has been lined up to take over as coach in the summer.

Mourinho's advisor, Eladio Parames, claimed last week that the former Chelsea and FC Porto coach had held talks with Inter over the possibility of replacing current boss Roberto Mancini at the end of the season.

Mourinho later distanced himself from the claims and now Moratti has poured cold water on suggestions he will replace Mancini.

Mancini initially announced he would leave Inter at the end of the season following their exit from the Champions League before back-tracking on his claim.

"These are other people's ideas, but they're not true. But it's fascinating because everyone is waiting for some news," said Moratti.

"For many years now you (the media) start talking about this two months before the end of the season.

"I can't do anything about that and even less so Mancini.

"I read many things in the newspapers that I find tiresome, but I'm used to it and I try to rise above it."
