Internazionale striker Diego Milito is close to signing a new deal with the reigning Serie A and Champions League holders.
The Argentina international, who scored twice for Inter as they beat Bayern Munich 2-0 to seal Europe's top prize in May, looks set to be rewarded with an extension to end speculation about the 31-year-old's future.
Speaking to reporters, his agent Fernando Hidalgo said: "We are very close to an agreement with Inter for the renewal of Milito's contract. We have made an appointment for Tuesday.
"The player is very happy and has thanked the club for this effort. It is a contract that means he will remain at Inter for life."
