Maicon move could fall through

The agent of Brazil international Maicon fears that the Inter Milan defender's proposed transfer to Real Madrid is in danger of falling through.

Maicon is believed to been keen to be reunited with former Inter boss Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu, but the player's agent, Antonio Caliendo, is unhappy with the way the transfer negotiations have been conducted.

He was quoted in AS as saying: "One of the reasons that this transfer is taking so long is because there's someone out there playing a dirty game. Sooner or later the truth will be revealed and we will know who frustrated the move.

"I can only hope that someone will take a decisive step and this matter will be solved in some way. We all know that Maicon still has a contract with Inter and that president Massimo Moratti will consider an offer that meets his demands.

"I have a very good relationship with Madrid and I can say that they have never said that Inter's financial demands in the transfer of Maicon are excessive."
