Lippi player snub for Inter

Italy coach Marcello Lippi has taken a thinly-veiled swipe at Internazionale after confirming he has no plans to visit their training ground.

Lippi will head to several Serie A clubs in the coming weeks to meet up with potential members of his World Cup squad.

However, the Azzurri coach claims there is a straightforward reason for not calling in at the Serie A champions and current leaders.

"There are only a few Italian players at Inter," he said. "Talking to players of the national team is part of my job.

"I will go and find other teams, starting from tomorrow.

"But not Inter, as there aren't enough Italian players - simple as that."
