Inter predict quiet January

There are unlikely to be any more new arrivals at the San Siro this month, according to Internazionale president Massimo Moratti.

Patrick Vieira is on the verge of signing for Manchester City while Cristian Chivu fractured his skull in Wednesday's 1-0 win at Chievo, but Moratti beleves Jose Mourinho's squad is strong enough to cope without the duo.

Inter have already signed Lazio striker Goran Pandev this month, but Moratti told the club's official website: "We will see what happens but I believe we can continue as we are. We are not forced to do anything.

"It's important to see how Chivu is from a human and personal standpoint as we cannot make any predictions regarding when he will return to play.

"With regards to Vieira, this is a decision taken by the club and, as such, it does not constrain us to look somewhere else to find a replacement.

"I don't think there are any contacts with anyone regarding a possible acquisition."
