Inter confirm Baptista failure

Internazionale technical director Marco Branca has confirmed that his club's interest in AS Roma's Julio Baptista is definitely over.

The Brazil forward was wanted by Inter but they failed to agree a fee with their Serie A rivals for the transfer of the former Real Madrid man.

"Yes, we can say that the deal has definitely collapsed," confirmed Branca.

"There was no economic agreement between the parties and so nothing came out of it."

Meanwhile, Inter may resurrect their interest in the summer when their on loan defender Nicolas Burdisso is due to return to the San Siro from Roma.

He added: "It just means that a deal for Burdisso has been put on hold for the time being.

"We will resume talking with Roma about it in June."
