Gasperini fed up with formation talk
Inter Milan coach Gian Piero Gasperini is fed up with talk about his formation, before he has even started the season.
Gasperini favours a three-man defence, which he played in the Italian Supercup against AC Milan in Beijing, more than a month ago.
But he has yet to send a team out onto the pitch in a competitive encounter ahead of Sunday's trip to Palermo.
Even so, Gasperini has come under fire for his 3-4-3 formation and had to face questions about whether or not he will change it if it doesn't work.
"You can't talk about anything and you can't abandon something just like that," he said.
"It's a formation I've applied in the past which has garnered results.
"I certainly haven't come here to be a phenomenon but to look for facts and results.
"There are too many issues surrounding Inter but (president Massimo) Moratti was clear with his words, he has faith in me."
The former Genoa coach refused to be drawn on speculation that he will leave Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder on the bench for the trip to Sicily, instead saving him for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Trabzonspor.
"He's a player I value highly, one of the most important on a world level and I hope he'll have an exceptional season," said Gasperini.
"We have considerable attacking resources and I consider Sneijder to be an attacker.
"We have the possibility to try out different solutions to our scheme. We'll have many games and Sneijder certainly isn't a problem."
