Forlan laid low by new injury

Diego Forlan has been removed from Inter Milan's squad to face Genoa in the Italian Cup on Thursday after breaking down with a new injury on Wednesday.

Forlan was diagnosed with a thigh injury, although Inter were at pains to clarify that it was in the other leg to the hamstring problem he suffered in October that kept him out of action until Sunday's Milan derby.

The Uruguay striker has not been replaced in the squad for Thursday's game.
